GOOGLE BOOSTING MOBILE-FRIENDLY ALGORITHM

A month before the Google Mice update, Google is issuing warnings to site owners that their website is not mobile-friendly.  Warnings are being shown directly in the mobile search results, but currently only for the site owners.  When searching your site, you will see the following message displayed.

Starting in May, it will become harder to rank in mobile searches if your website is not mobile-friendly.  Since 2014, the number of individuals globally searching on the Internet through a mobile device has out numbered the number of individuals searching on desktops.  That’s a big deal!  80% of devices used to search the Internet are smartphones (Global Web Index).

Google says on their blog that the intention is to increase the effects of last year’s Google Mice algorithm to help Internet users find even more pages that are relevant and mobile-friendly – saying “getting good, relevant answers when you search shouldn’t depend on what device you’re using.”

If your website is not mobile-friendly, call us now.  We can help you get your site Google compliant.  You can test your website with the Google’s Mobile-friendly Test
